- Low Voltage Project Manager

Position Summary: The Low Voltage Project Manager is responsible for managing the implementation of low voltage projects in private, state, and federal environments. This role oversees all phases of assigned projects from award through closeout, ensuring scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety objectives are met in accordance with contractual requirements, company standards, and applicable regulations.
Essential Functions:
- Manage the Low Voltage projects to include structured cabling, voice/data, security systems, audio visual, access control, cctv, nurse call, paging, intercom, etc.
- Apply a strong understanding of cable distribution methods.
Lead assigned projects from award through closeout, managing scope, schedule, and budget throughout the project life cycle. - Develop and maintain CPM and cost loaded schedules to ensure on time delivery.
- Establish and manage initial project budgets; oversee job costing, internal cost codes, and cost tracking tools in coordination with project forecasting and fiduciary responsibility.
- Provide overall project leadership by directing and coordinating the work of the project team including the field and office staff – to ensure full alignment with the project’s scope, specifications, schedule, and execution strategy.
- Lead and coordinate the full submittal process – including required project-specific plans, material data, product documentation, and shop drawings – to ensure compliance with project scope, specification, schedule, and contract requirements.
- Oversee the RFI and change order processes, ensuring timely coordination, accurate documentation, and proper approvals for both owner and subcontractor changes.
- Lead regular weekly OAC construction meetings with clients, Architects & Engineers and Construction meetings with subcontractors, and internal teams; review and approve meeting agendas and minutes to ensure clarity and timely distribution.
- Ensure that Procore and internal documentation control procedures are properly implemented to maintain carefully organized, contract-compliant project records throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure strict compliance with construction Quality Control standards and enforce site-specific safety planning and protocols.
- Maintain strong knowledge of various building trades and construction methods; conduct blueprint reviews and material take-offs as needed.
Environmental Conditions:
- Primarily indoors in typical office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, fumes, vibrations and temperature changes (approximately 75% of the time).
- Occasionally outdoors in a jobsite environment with exposure to noise, heat, and cold (approximately 25% of the time).
- Frequent fast-paced work with unscheduled interruptions.
- Occasional evenings or weekends work to meet deadlines and strategic objectives.
- Occasional travel and mobility between different work locations.
Physical Demands:
- Consistent attendance and punctuality.
- Mobility within the office or jobsite
- Ability to walk, sit, stand and climb stairs.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to drive a vehicle.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, electrical engineering, IT or a related field preferred; equivalent field experience will be considered.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Project Manager or Construction Manager performing large and small projects.
- Experience on Federal and State contracts is strongly preferred.
- BICSI/RCDD, RTPM, or DCDC certification strongly preferred.
- Proven ability in personal task management, with a demonstrated capacity to plan, coordinate, and execute complex activities and meet critical project deliverables.
- Demonstrated ability to lead project teams, coordinate stakeholders, and communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors/vendors, and internal departments.
- Deep understanding of contract documents including plans, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and change orders, and how to interpret and apply them during project execution.
- Experience developing and managing construction budgets, owner pay applications, and subcontractor/vendor invoicing.
- Ability to prioritize competing deadlines, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and make informed decisions and maintain a professional bearing under pressure.
- Demonstrates professionalism, dependability, and accountability in all work-related interactions, including consistent attendance and punctuality.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with project teams, subcontractors, and government agencies.
- Commitment to safety and ability to promote and support a safety-first culture by ensuring that site safety plans are implemented, collaborating with the Superintendent to verify adherence to safety protocols and addressing potential hazards in coordination with project leadership.
- Ability to maintain strong relationships and foster trust with clients and teams, displaying a professional, respectful, courteous, and enthusiastic demeanor.
- Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Procore or similar construction management platforms for documentation and workflow tracking.
- Proficient in Microsoft Project (or Primavera), AutoCAD, Bluebeam and Visio.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and capable of passing federal background and security checks. For certain federal projects, U.S. citizenship may be required in accordance with contract or security clearance requirements.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
