Job Title –Cable Installer

Report to – Operations Manager

Job Summary:

The Cable Installer is responsible for the installation, modification, repair and maintenance of Structured Cabling systems. This includes the physical installation of cabling and related devices.

Essential Job Requirements:

• Responsible for the installation of vender-neutral structured cabling systems resulting in high quality projects.
• Plan and install cabling pathways and support structures for low voltage cabling.
• Build telecommunications rooms by installing cabinets, racks, overhead ladder rack, patch panels, fiber optic enclosures and miscellaneous hardware.
• Accurately document and test copper and fiber optic cables to required certification parameters utilizing designated test equipment.
• Conduct installations in compliance with industry, manufacturers, and customer standards.
• Positively interact with other team members, customers, general contractors, trades, and manufacturers’ representatives to establish project guidelines, standards, schedules, conflicts and design changes.
• Attention to detail and strong written and verbal skills.
• Maintain a safe work environment by following codes, standards, and regulations.

Requirements

Essential Physical Requirements:

• Stand for long periods of time.
• Use hands to manipulate, control, or feel objects, tools and controls.
• Use fingers to grasp, move or assemble small objects.
• Continuously bend, twist, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
• Climb and work from A-frame and extension ladders for long periods of time.
• Work from elevated platforms (lifts or scaffolding).
• Repeatedly lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Proficient in the use of all required hand and power tools.
• Work in confined spaces (crawl spaces, attics, man holes and chases).
